To make it feel less bad when you lose, even if still quite harsh, losers should get back 10% of the points they put in and winners would get their points + 90% of the rest of the points.

Example:
The current amount of points in the lottery is 100 000 points and the winner put in 10 000 of those points ->
- The winner gets (10 000 + 90% of the other 90 000) = 91 000 points
- A losing player who put in 1000 points gets 100 points back.

This makes it feel less bad when you lose, meaning you might want to play in the lottery again, which I'm sure is some gacha/gambling/cassino technique.

Other:
- The interface could give the losing player back the 100 points with a message like 'Sorry, you didn't win. Better luck next time!'

I know for a fact that a bunch of casinos do these cash back gimmicks. I don't think this is a healthy nor fun addition.

Don't gamble points you're not okay with losing.

Well just win alot of times and have enough to not care

If I spend 100 points for 1 ticket, The lottery goes up by 100 points. It doesn't add any extra points, and is purely accrued by players putting in their own points. If I have a 78% chance of winning the lottery.. then 78% of the jackpot is from points I've spent.

If the jackpot paid out a x1.5 or x2 multiplier, then I could understand a loser pay out or something of the sort.

On one hand I like anything that gives gamblers more points, but in certain ways it can ruin the spirit of gambling. Risk is as important as reward in gambling culture. The only time I feel anything at all is when it's all or nothing. When it's all on the line and all the cards are on the table. That's the only time I'm actually "alive".

Currently the lottery by itself only adds the initial pot (before anyone enters) into the economy. I don’t play enough to remember but I think it’s like 100 or 1,000. It would be significantly higher with a cashback feature.

Given the overwhelming lack of support for this suggestion I am going to deny it. Leadership will discuss if there's a way to make the lottery more fun that would be better received.
