Previous staffing experience
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?
1. Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
I think so.

2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
I have been bombarded with slurs since joining the server and want to help.

3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
- I'm an expert in RDMing and loopholing, no RDM report can stump me
- I haven't falsely banned anyone for hacking (on this community) (yet)
- I'm an expert in slurs, especially racial, my ears are specially atuned to isolate and detect them in chaotic voice environments where they sometimes slip by unpunished
- Death scene forensic expert (Uncle Dad can testify)

4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?
I have never joined the forums or Discord.

5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
For the weeks that I play, I can meet the hour requirement.

6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
I start typing essays as soon as I disagree with someone.

7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
Generally direct and I try to listen more than I talk, but I'm not perfect. The other day I accused someone of having a fifth chin, which I deeply regret. However, this was completely unprovoked, so perhaps it doesn't count as a conflict.

8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
Yes.

9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
Highly extensive. I probably set a record for largest RDM in one action as a traitor. This incident has changed me as a player, from now on I will ensure that my mass RDMs are spread out across multiple rounds.

10. What is your reputation like within the community?
Some people like me, but even they consider me a lawless menace and make heroic efforts to avoid me in-game.

I fear that you already have joined the forums
If I +1 this app, will you target another staff member and rdm them for me???
It is disgraceful that you seem to assume that I am willing to go to such lengths just because of ONE mistake I made in my past.

Barrel, if you were to become a staff member, would your behavior towards RDM and prop kill RDM change? This is one thing that I have seen you do in the past and that has created an RDM chain. Staff are role models towards the players and should not be seen doing anything along those lines, and should be an upstanding member of the community.

Hey Kermie! You seemed to know a lot about FBI crime statistics earlier, so I wanted to provide some statistics of my own

Across 608 role-appropriate kills (and god knows how many others...), I've only been slain 11 times. 4 of those were from the unfortunate incident on airbus. I'd welcome you to spectate me playing and you'll see a few things:
  • The vast majority of the RDMs are either people who are throwing props (so not really RDM) or I'm friendly with
  • I try to avoid other people when throwing props, partially because I try to be considerate but also because:
    • true prop RDM very rarely gets forgiven
    • prop kills near non-regulars usually result in my character getting ventilated by a hail of bullets
    • It's easy for an RDM chain to happen on maps like pool
  • The types of kills I go for are much less aggressive - I usually stuff like GBA, unIDeds, etc. slide if they don't have evil body language
People have said that me doing this encourages other players who might not be as cautious, which is fair. But I do think there is a perception that propkilling is a trolly/less-valid playstyle which contributes to things being amplified, when over-aggressive players that take every opportunity to kill other players are way more detrimental to server population

Your record breaking Mass RDM seemed intentional. How will we know if you can restrain yourself from having a mass casualty event as a staff member? Our staff can’t be killing 17 people with a single jihad!

I've deleted my last post as a show of regret and a reminder that I should not be so hard on people - you took the time to fill this application out and all I did was respond with harsh rhetoric. It wasn't fair to you and I don't have anything to justify the response.

Thinking and looking back on it my message went against one of the major messages that this server provides to others players: It's just not that serious.

This is a socal game at the end of the day meant to provide new entertainment for each round - no matter the role and no matter who is on.

It was wrong of me to assume that this was something less than a joke - there just isn't enough of that evidence out there to believe you're here to only cause trouble.

There are some shortcomings on the applications and some controversy surrounding your Mass RDM situation. I'll be sure to speak with you privately whenever that time comes and whenever you are free.

For now you will be asked to re-apply within the month or less with improvement. Please take the time to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns. While the application is still denied (for now) please do not take it as a deterrent as there is still plenty of hope to improve.

I am truly sorry and I hope you can forgive me.
