Hi friends!

I’m interested in starting a writing club and wanted to see who else might be interested.

The idea is to create a supportive space for people who enjoy writing (or want to write more) to share work, exchange feedback, and stay motivated. All experience levels and genres would be welcome (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, journaling, etc.) I want this to be a space where we can flex our writing muscles and also have people to hold us accountable as I know it can be hard to start at times.

The Vision :

• Semi-Regular chill and write sessions in discord
• Optional writing prompts or goals (could do one weekly or even one a month to get the creative juices flowing)
• Constructive, respectful feedback if you are open to sharing your work
• A low-pressure, encouraging environment to hold us accountable but also give us the space to explore

This is obvoiously in the early stages, so I’m open to ideas on format, schedule, and structure. If this sounds interesting to you, reply here or send me a message and let me know:

• What you like to write
• What you would like to see in the club
• How often you’d want to meet (impromptu? once a month?)

I would LOVE to join a writing club built within the community!! I love doing text roleplay on Discord, but I've been itching to work on some original stories and meet some fellow writers. This seems like an awesome way to find the more creative-minded folks in the community

Everything in the vision sounds perfect-- I think a set time woould honestly be ideal compared to impromptu, as in my experience I've found that impromptu groups tend to dissipate since there's not much committment to them. But I definitely am all for it being a chill place to meet and collab with people ^^

It is a more inclusive channel for creatives so people are welcome to post art and other things but this is where we can share our writing and talk about everything from writing blocks, to asking for ideas and writing prompts! I have assigned a writing club role to everyone who has responded as well and will tag yall in there as well!

Looking above it looks like we would like to have some organised catch ups so how about we pencil one in for soon? Maybe next weekend on the 17th? I'll also include that in the channel so we can talk more freely there

Hi all, just for visibility I'm posting this here too!

I have set up a lil event for us to trial our first organised lil writing club meeting https://discord.gg/KxVzbakr?event=1460436572833976463 . This Saturday afternoon we can have a couple hours of little focus blocks where we work, followed by set time to decompress, share and regroup! You do not have to attend the whole time but just making this public so anyone is welcome to join.

NOTE: All people of the creative nook are welcome to spend the time working on their craft if you wish but it is primarily a time for us writers to really get into our stuff!
