Previous staffing experienceI was promoted to Moderator in early 2014 for about 3 months or so, after which I was promoted to Admin in STTT/SGM where I led my team for about 2 and a half years. I remember my tenure as Admin very favorably, as I really enjoyed managing a team and contributing to a larger project with friends. Training Trial Moderators was something I especially enjoyed, and feel I was good at.
My moderation style is very in line with the vibe GL is aiming for, as my goal is always to simply foster a great environment where everyone is enjoying themselves. Being too heavy handed with moderation tends to inspire “rebellion” from players with troll/goblin like tendencies. So much can be quelled when staff come off as more of a vibe setter than an authoritarian, and I feel like GL has nailed that balance for the most part.
I also would like to say that while I like making people laugh, I know full well that I occasionally push the line of what is acceptable, and I know being a representative of the server comes with standards in that regard. I feel there are plenty of prior references in this community who can vouch for my ability to be professional, and I’m mindful of this.

I think I have enough experience and time that this community could benefit from. For a while now, I have been terribly bored of other games out there, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Giant’s Lair. I can not promise that I will remain for years, but I see myself at least being active for a couple of months, roughly 10 hours a week.
If I am going to be playing, I’d like to be able to contribute. Also, selfishly, I get bored during spectator and would love to have something to do. My instincts for moderation never really left, and I find myself wanting to gag mic spammers while staff are alive/occupied or to deal with Rhazh.
I know there are concerns from past behavior, mainly things I did in the early days. If anyone wants something answered, I would be glad to share my perspective. I think I’ve been pretty unambiguous about how lame some of the things I did were, and genuinely find it cringe. All I can really say at this point is my relationship with Giant’s Lair is one of reminiscing with old friends and a genuine enjoyment of the people here as well as the game whereas SGM became something different. It was the most prominent thing in my life during some very low teenage years, and I sought validation from an external source. Power games and schemes ruined my reputation and good friendships and netted me no benefit. One of the lessons SGM taught me, and really many of these people here taught me, was trading people for things isn’t only wrong, it’s ineffective. Good people tend toward good outcomes, and bad people remain losers. I am thankful for the lessons I learned, as the last few years have been by bar the best, most lucrative part of my life so far and I genuinely believe my experiences and relationships in SGM contributed to that positively. Many of us spent many formative years together, I missed y’all.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and I would be glad to offer my abilities for the duration of my time here. Hope I didn’t butcher the format too badly.
