Accepted Clientside Hitreg

If this is viable to add to the server, +1.

Hitreg has noticeably worsened since the Christmas update and it wasn't fantastic with ghost hits to begin with.

There are plans to look into hit-reg solutions via public player testing and hearing the feedback. Will update when we are getting closer to doing this.

this is the addon that every server that i have played on in the last year has used and the hitreg has been completely fine, i dont see why this server needs to make its own hitreg solution when a good one already exists just throw this in and devote time elsewhere

We are not making our own hit-reg system nor do we plan to, but we want to have public play testing to get feedback since this will be the most noticeable impact on gameplay out of any addition we have or will make in the future. There are a couple of options for clientside hit-reg and due to the impact of such a change, it'd be best to look into each one individually to see how they each work.

As I am improving our workflow with a local developement environment (A locally-hosted instance of our databases, website, services, and gmod server(s) run on each developer's computer so we're not all sharing one testing server), changes are then moved up to staging (Hosted through our dedicated servers with cloned production database) and finally to production each requiring a review for changes to be pushed up to a higher environment. We don't follow the typical gmod server of "just throw it in production and see how it plays out". When we feel comfortable with a system we may move it to staging (Just like the EU player test session this past Friday) or we may privately test on staging and if it looks good push to production for a full playerbase of feedback.

This might not be the right place for this discussion, but I disagree. The hit-reg, from what I can tell, has stayed consistent throughout my entire time on the server.

I can agree with Steve. While hitreg is an issue, I feel like one of the things affecting this is also latency/ping.
